Frequently Asked Questions
The questions we hear most across both marques, service, parts, storage, buying and selling, answered the way we would answer them across the counter. If yours is not here, call the shop on (214) 899-3525 and ask.
McLaren
McLaren Service
McLaren's schedule is annual or every 10,000 miles, whichever comes first, the calendar matters as much as the odometer, because fluids and seals age whether the car is driven or not. Brake fluid is due every two years and transmission fluid every four years or 40,000 miles. We scope each visit to what is actually due rather than selling a fixed package.
Yes. We run the same McLaren Diagnostic System (MDS) the dealers use, with current software and subscriptions. Fault reads, module programming and service resets are all done in-house.
No. Independent service with correct parts and documented procedures preserves your coverage, and McLaren's extended warranty requires an annual inspection with maintenance up to date, which we carry out and document. Keep your invoices; we keep copies too.
Patterns we document regularly: door latch actuators on the MP4-12C and 650S, coolant reservoir and hose issues on the 570S, SAV block debris on the 600LT, center dash vent and battery drain on the 720S, and rear main seal weep on the 675LT and 765LT. None are reasons to avoid the cars, all are known, and all are fixable.
Yes, pre-purchase inspections are one of the most useful things we do. We inspect where the car sits, run a full MDS fault read, review the service history and deliver a written report with photographs, sorted into what needs attention now, soon, and what is cosmetic.
Aston Martin
Aston Martin Service
Aston Martin service is annual or every 10,000 miles. The V8 and V12 cars share the interval but differ in scope, plugs, fluids and filters vary by engine. We scope the visit to the car's age, mileage and how it is used.
Yes, from DB9 and early Vantage through to DB11, DBS, DBX and the current Vantage. Older cars need a technician who knows them rather than a parts cannon; newer cars need current diagnostic software. We have both.
Batteries are the first casualty, the cars draw current even parked, and a weak battery causes a cascade of spurious faults. A quality maintainer is essential, and our storage program keeps cars on conditioners with regular exercise. Beyond that: tires flat-spot, brake discs corrode, and fluids age on the calendar.
Yes. We inspect where the car sits, private seller, dealer or auction, review the provenance and service history, and deliver a written photographic report. For out-of-state buyers we act as your eyes and can arrange enclosed transport to the shop.
Parts
Parts & Sourcing
We fit genuine manufacturer parts by default, sourced through the same channels as the dealers. Where a quality OEM equivalent exists, the same part from the same supplier without the badge, we will tell you and let you choose. We do not fit pattern parts on these cars.
Yes. Older McLaren and Aston Martin parts are obtainable but sometimes on a longer lead time, we will tell you the realistic wait up front. For discontinued items we source through specialist networks and, where appropriate, fabricate or refurbish in-house.
We would rather talk first. Customer-supplied parts are often the wrong revision, a pattern copy, or missing the seals and hardware the job needs. If you already have a genuine part, we are happy to fit it, we just cannot warranty a part we did not supply.
Our parts purchasing is tied to the work we carry out. If you need a specific item, a service kit, brake set or trim piece, call the shop and we will tell you honestly whether we can help.
Ownership
Ownership, Storage & Sales
No. Under the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a manufacturer cannot void your warranty just because the car was serviced by an independent shop. What matters is that maintenance is done on schedule, with correct parts and documented procedures. We use genuine parts, follow factory specifications and give you an itemized invoice for your records.
Yes, climate-controlled storage at the shop in Carrollton. Cars are kept on battery conditioners, started and exercised on a schedule, and can be rolled straight into service work while they are with us. Collection and delivery by enclosed transport is available.
We broker and sell McLarens and Aston Martins, and we buy the right McLarens directly. Every car we sell has been through the same inspection we would carry out for a buyer, so there is nothing to hide. If you are selling, we can inspect, prepare and place the car.
MMCO is March Motorsports Custom Operations, our in-house custom shop for McLaren: carbon fiber, exhaust systems, ECU tuning, suspension, wheels, upholstery, wraps and paint protection film, all designed and fitted in Carrollton. The Aston Martin side of the custom shop is MMQO.
Start with the inspection, not the car. Find the example you like, then have it inspected before money moves, the report tells you what the next two years of ownership actually look like. We are happy to talk through model choice before you shop; a short conversation saves expensive mistakes.
No. We are an independent service and fabrication facility, not a dealership and not affiliated with, authorized by or endorsed by either manufacturer. That independence is the point: when we inspect a car or scope a service, we have nothing to sell you but the truth about it.
