McLaren Light Body Work and Glass in Dallas, TX

Panel and trim repair, paint correction, carbon refinishing and windshield replacement, carried out by people who take these cars apart every week.

Why it is different

Why a McLaren Body Repair Is Not a Body Shop Job

A McLaren is a carbon monocoque wearing composite panels, bonded glass and delicate trim. Almost nothing on it responds to the techniques a general collision shop uses every day, and the damage done by the wrong approach usually costs more than the original repair.

The most common problem we fix is somebody else's work. Broken clips hidden behind refitted trim, A-pillar carbon scratched during a glass job, panel gaps that are close but not right, and paint blended into a panel edge rather than to the correct break line.

Disassembly is the part that matters. Panels, clips, carbon surrounds and aero come off in a specific order, and going in blind breaks parts that are expensive and slow to replace. We dismantle these cars routinely, so the repair starts from the right place.

Everything is photographed before, during and after, you get a line-item estimate before work starts, and nothing begins until you approve it.

What we take on

  • Scuffed and cracked front splitters, side skirts and rear diffusers
  • Panel and trim damage from low-speed contact, curbs and parking knocks
  • Paint correction, localised refinishing and color matching
  • Carbon fiber repair and refinishing, including clear coat restoration
  • Windshield and side glass replacement with camera and sensor calibration
  • Panel alignment and gap correction after a previous repair

What we do

What the Work Actually Involves

Four areas, all of them on cars where the disassembly is as skilled as the repair itself.

01

Panel, splitter and aero repair

Front splitters, skirts and diffusers take the damage first on cars with this ground clearance. Composite repair is done properly rather than filled, then refinished so the texture and sheen match the surrounding panel instead of looking like a patch.

02

Paint and color matching

McLaren colors are difficult to match and unforgiving of a poor blend. Paint depth is measured before anything starts, finishes are matched to the panel rather than to a code alone, and refinishing is blended to the correct break line so the repair does not announce itself in daylight.

03

Carbon fiber work

Weave alignment, clear coat repair and refinishing on carbon parts, including the aero and trim pieces that discolor and craze with heat and UV. Correct carbon work is invisible; incorrect carbon work is a permanent reminder.

04

Glass and calibration

Windshield replacement with the correct specification glass, careful removal and refitting of A-pillar trim, clips and carbon surrounds, then sensor and camera calibration afterwards. Every installation is leak and wind-noise tested before the car leaves.

How it runs

How a Repair Runs

01

Send photographs

Pictures of the damage and a description of what happened. Most jobs can be scoped closely enough from photographs to tell you whether it is a repair or a replacement.

02

Assessment in person

The car comes in, the area is inspected properly with paint depth readings, and any hidden damage behind the panel is found before the estimate is written.

03

Line-item estimate

Parts, paint, labor and timeline in writing. Nothing begins until you approve it, and if we find more once the panel is off we call you first.

04

Repair, refinish and verify

The work is carried out, panel gaps are set, glass is calibrated where relevant, and the finished job is photographed and checked in daylight before you collect it.

Small cosmetic jobs are often a two- or three-day visit. Paint and glass work depends on parts availability and cure times, and we give you a date rather than an estimate once the parts are confirmed.

Where we work

Where the Car Goes

01The Carrollton workshop

Body and glass work is carried out at 1750 Briercroft Ct, Ste 136 in Carrollton, just off the President George Bush Turnpike, roughly twenty minutes from Plano and Frisco, twenty-five from Highland Park, half an hour from Southlake and about forty-five minutes from Fort Worth.

Cars stay indoors for the duration, which matters on a job where the car is apart for days rather than hours.

02If the car is not drivable

We arrange collection across Dallas-Fort Worth for cars with damage that makes driving unwise, including anything with glass damage or a splitter that will not survive the trip.

Send photographs first. There is no point moving a car before we have told you what the repair involves.

03Austin and Houston

Enclosed transport is arranged both ways for owners further out, and cosmetic work is the easiest job to plan around a round trip because the scope is known before the car leaves.

Tell us where the car is and we will handle the logistics.

Why March Motorsports

Why Owners Bring Cosmetic Work Here

The difference between a good repair and a poor one on these cars is almost entirely in the preparation: knowing how the panel comes off, which clips are single-use, where the paint break line sits and what the carbon underneath is doing.

We service and dismantle McLarens every week, which means the car goes back together the way it came apart. That is the part a general body shop cannot buy.

01

We take these cars apart weekly

Disassembly is routine here, so clips, trim and carbon survive the repair.

02

Measured, not guessed

Paint depth readings and gap measurements before and after, with photographs throughout.

03

Finished to factory gaps

Alignment set to the original tolerances, not to whatever closes.

Recently dropped a McLaren 600LT off for a PPI. Dalton and the team were super helpful. They know these cars well and identified issues I don't believe another shop would have caught.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Usually, yes. Composite repair on splitters, skirts and diffusers is routine here, and we will tell you honestly when damage is beyond a repair that would hold up.

McLaren colors are difficult, so we measure paint depth, match to the panel rather than to a code alone, and blend to the correct break line. The repair should be invisible in daylight, which is where we check it before you collect.

Yes. We provide a documented, photographed estimate suitable for a claim, and we will talk to the adjuster directly about why these cars are not a standard collision job.

Typically a day once the correct glass is in hand, including trim removal, fitting, sensor calibration and a leak and wind-noise test. Glass availability is usually the longer part of the timeline.

On cars fitted with them, yes. Skipping calibration leaves driver assistance systems reading from the wrong reference point, so it is part of the job rather than an extra.

Yes. Clear coat restoration and refinishing on faded or crazed carbon is common work, particularly on aero parts that live in the Texas sun.

That is a large share of what arrives here, broken clips, misaligned panels and blends in the wrong place. We assess what was done, tell you what can be corrected and what needs redoing, and put it in writing.

Yes, both are handled in-house. Film and wrap work is on its own page, and it is often worth combining with a repair while the panels are already apart.

Yes. Cars stay inside for the duration of the work, which matters on a job where the car is apart for several days.

Every job is photographed before, during and after, and the record is filed against your VIN alongside the rest of the car's history with us.
